Marble Canyon, Death Valley National Park, California, 1996
I refer to the Death Valley as a complex. In the same day one could start hiking in the blistering heat of the Badwater Basin at 282' below sea level and hike to sub-zero termperatires at the top of Telescope Peak at 11,049' above sea level. Five mountain ranges, playas measured in square miles, slot canyons, Bristlecone pines, Joshua trees, a rich human history...make this a unique place.
Marble Canyon is a colorful rift in the Cottonwood Mountains. I spent a great day exploring the canyon. I mad three compositions of canyon wall detail. This being the best of the three.
